Independence Day 2025 Celebration at Hindu Girls’ College

Hindu Girls’ College proudly celebrated Independence Day 2025 with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The event brought together students, educators, and distinguished guests in a vibrant display of national pride.

The College had the honour of welcoming the The Hon Govindranath GUNNESS, Minister of National Infrastructure, as the Chief Guest of the ceremony. In his inspiring address, the Minister reminded the audience of the significance of this historic day and the responsibility of the younger generation in shaping the future of Mauritius.

The celebration featured a series of cultural and artistic performances, including songs, poems, and dance items dedicated to the spirit of independence. Students expressed their love for the nation through creative presentations that reflected both tradition and modernity.

The event concluded with the hoisting of the national flag, the singing of the national anthem, and a renewed commitment to uphold the values of unity, freedom, and progress.

The Independence Day celebration at Hindu Girls’ College was a meaningful occasion that instilled a deep sense of pride and belonging among all participants.

Year 2022

The visit of Dr Ameenah Gurib-Fakim was a most awaited occasion.  On the Flag-Raising Day, the school welcomed her Excellency the President of the Republic of Mauritius in its midst.  After the ceremony, Dr Ameenah Gurib-Fakim interacted with students of Grades 10 to 13.  It is a visit that will be etched on the minds of the school community.
